Old world, new world?

For us, this is as much a time travel as it is a bike trip. Rolling though villages where time seems to have stopped some fifty to hundred years ago is initself a real treat.

What really makes it even more exciting, is the small anachronistic details. Like someone speaking in their brand new iPhone in these surroundings. Or the ultra posh BMW SUV almost running you into a ditch when admiring the woodworks around the windows.

It's kind of like two vastly different time frames co-exist here peacefully by some quirk of nature. Reminding us in not a too small extent of the wonderful Lemony Snicket's A series of unfortunate events film. Complete with the most intriguing architectural stylings and houses that defy the notion of a 90-degree angle. This truly is and environment that would have all modernists turn in their graves.
